Mission Statement Shiloh Project Lift offers holistic community-based educational resources to people of all ages in rural Shiloh, Sumter County, Lynchburg, South Carolina, aiming to boost academic achievement, economic mobility, and family stability.

Background and the Challenge

The Shiloh community faces a significant shortage of resources, with limited opportunities for upward mobility and a lack of safe spaces where children and youth can play, grow, and develop to achieve optimal future outcomes. The local school district donated the St. John School building to benefit the community; however, the facility is in dire need of repair. Many residents must travel between 30 minutes to an hour to reach their workplaces, making it difficult for them to support their families. Additionally, individuals with past involvement in the criminal system often struggle to find alternative means of providing for their loved ones.

Shiloh Project Lift was established to address these challenges by bridging service gaps for children, youth, adults, seniors, and families. The project offers community-based, holistic educational services designed to create meaningful change for those in need.
