Sumter Museum's expansive campus, covers over five acres, and is home to a multitude of facilities showcasing diverse artifacts and stories from our rich past. This makes it one of the largest museum campuses in the state. We’ll be growing even more over the next two years with the addition of the Sumter Military Museum. Across all of our current facilities and as we plan for the future, we strive to explore historical experiences through programs and exhibits that allow all of us to inform and shape our future.

Sumter Museum explores historical experiences through programs and exhibits that allow all of us to inform and shape our future. The museum includes the Williams Brice House (1916), Heritage Education Center (2003), Carolina Backcountry Homestead, Temple Sinai Jewish History Center (2018), and soon-to-be Sumter Military Museum (est. 2026).
