I have been working for Able SC for a year and have never been more impressed by an organization or the people with whom I work. Money raised through Midlands Gives assists us in working towards our vision: A South Carolina that is a national model of equity and inclusion for all people with disabilities. How? By supporting programming that equips people with disabilities with tools and skills, like our Independent Living and Peer Mentoring Services, or Youth Transition Services that help youth with disabilities navigate the transition from school to work or higher education; provides community education about how people with disabilities are valuable and productive members of our communities and how best to engage; allows us to continue to advocate for systems change to improve the lives of disable people across SC!

We are an organization of people with disabilities leading the charge to: Equip people with disabilities with tools to foster pride and to direct their own lives; Educate the community to challenge stereotypes and eliminate barriers; and Advocate for access, equity, and inclusion at the individual, local, state, and national level.
