"Because It’s a Blessing to Be a Blessing" – Barry's Story Before Barry Seabrook came to Oliver Gospel, he was living on the streets, battling addiction, and feeling broken in every sense of the word. “I thought I could do it on my own,” Barry says. “But my biggest challenge was accepting that I couldn’t.” Barry's journey began in a home filled with violence and pain, leading him to seek comfort and belonging in all the wrong places. Decades of addiction and instability followed. But everything changed the day he walked through the doors of Oliver Gospel. “The Mission welcomed me with open arms,” Barry shares. “When you’re not feeling good about who you are or where you’ve been, that kind of love—it changes everything.” Today, Barry is rebuilding his life with purpose and faith. He’s found a sponsor, reconnected spiritually, and is setting goals for the future—including launching his own food truck business
