I was the Medical Director for the former John A. Martin Primary Health Care Center in Winnsboro at the time we converted to Prisma Health Family Medicine.  When Dr. McElmurray retired a few years later, we wanted  both to honor his decades of service and to encourage new professionals to enter the rural healthcare field through the establishment of this scholarship fund.
