Black Philanthropy Month is about investing in the full picture, mind, body, and soul. Girl, Get Up Society helps women rewrite old narratives and reclaim the joy they were told was out of reach. I give on 8/28 because my connection and passion for the work that this organization does, speaks to my heart and allows me to contribute and be in spaces that I wish were an option for me at a young age.

At Girl, Get Up Society, we help girls and women in South Carolina connect their mental health to a greater state of hope, healing, and happiness in their lives by ensuring they have access to mental healthcare and the support services they need. While we champion the wellbeing of all girls and women, we primarily address the needs of black girls and women.
