When I think about what independence truly means, I think of choice, dignity, and the ability to live life on your own terms. That’s why I’m proud to work and support Able South Carolina, an organization that isn’t just advocating for people with disabilities, but is led by them! Able SC is changing the way our communities think about disability. We don't just offer help; we are a force of empowerment, breaking down barriers and building up people and their voices. Whether through advocacy, independent skills training, employment support, health, emergency preparedness, Community Leadership Academy (CLA), or accessibility programs, we are opening doors for people to thrive, not just survive! Independence isn’t just about living on your own; it's about having the power to make your own choices, to chase your dreams, and to be seen and heard. That’s why I’m asking you to stand with us. We are an organization of people with disabilities leading the charge to: Equip people with disabilities with tools to foster pride and to direct their own lives; Educate the community to challenge stereotypes and eliminate barriers; and Advocate for access, equity, and inclusion at the individual, local, state, and national level.
