As an organization led by people with disabilities that supports other people with disabilities, we didn't just learn this. We live this. Disability is a part of our lives, and I think if you pause to consider community, your family, or perhaps even yourself, you may not realize that disability is already a part of your life too. Disability is not bad; it's just a part of life and being human. Able SC does essential work in the community. From my point of view as Director of Information and Referral, my team and I helped connect people with disabilities with resources and community after Hurricane Helene. We help people with disabilities get connected to services to understand how to self-advocate and be self-sufficient. We help people get connected to much-needed mobility aids or assistive technology, for free, through our Assistive Technology ReUse Program when they can't wait. With your support, we can keep being in the community and helping ensure Able SC can be barrier-free.

We are an organization of people with disabilities leading the charge to: Equip people with disabilities with tools to foster pride and to direct their own lives; Educate the community to challenge stereotypes and eliminate barriers; and Advocate for access, equity, and inclusion at the individual, local, state, and national level.
