The first time I ever heard of Happy Wheels was when my, then, two year old granddaughter was admitted to the Children's Hospital at Prisma Midlands. She happily chose a puzzle from the toy cart on day five of her battle against leukemia. Over the next 2+ years of her treatment, Happy Wheels consistently boosted her spirits while she was in the hospital or receiving treatments in the pediatric oncology clinic. Watching the effect that Happy Wheels had on Eve inspired me to do the same for other children. On weeks when I deliver toys and books with Happy Wheels, I have the opportunity to see well over 100 patients in just one of our three children's hospitals. Currently, I volunteer at Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital and Prisma Health Midlands Children's Hospital.
