Since organizing in the spring of 2016, the Chapin Beautification has planted sequoias in the Chapin Business and Technology Park at Brighton, coordinated the landscaping of the Chapin Road park and replaced the Sango Kaku Japanese maple tree in the In Loving Memory Garden located at Chapin Town Hall.

From an advocacy standpoint, Chapin Beautification led efforts to ensure the safety of the magnificent red oak located by Smith Constructors and Engineers at 246 Columbia Avenue. This tree was identified as a Treasured Tree of the Midlands in 2016, but it was potentially in danger of being taken down as part of the creation of a new roadway off Columbia Avenue to alleviate traffic in Chapin. Thanks to a number of meetings with representatives from Mead & Hunt, Lexington County and SCDOT, the plan has been modified to prevent Mr. Smith's business and the tree from being torn down.

As a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, we are raising funds to support planting of trees throughout Chapin as well as address areas where landscaping and beautification can provide a more appealing appearance for residents and visitors alike.
