End Child Hunger SC has several initatives in Midlands Counties across the state including an annual End Child Hunger SC awareness week in October, capacity building efforts in Lee, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg and Richland counties, and anti-hunger program outreach through the summer food service program, child and adult care food afterschool program, and community eligibilty provision. Through these various initatives End Child Hunger SC has ensured thousands of children have access to meals in the Midlands region of our state.
In the summer of 2017, End Child Hunger SC and its partners created over thirty-five new summer food service program sites across the Midlands area which resulted in over 40,000 meals served this summer to youth eighteen years old and younger.
Your gift will help sustain our new mini-grant initiative that will allow for End Child Hunger SC partners to receive funding to expand their programming at summer food service program and afterschool program sites that provides free enrichment and meals to youth eighteen years old and younger. Examples of potential projects that may include: laptops for an afterschool program, a community garden for a summer food service program, or a robotics kit for a local afterschool program.
