Hannah Loves Happy Wheels!

I first got involved with Happy Wheels back in 2019, an amazing nonprofit that visits kids at all three children’s hospitals in South Carolina each week. After finishing PA school in 2023, I reached out to Tracey, who was kind enough to welcome me back. Now, one Thursday each month, I get to step away from the clinical side of medicine and roll the cart at MUSC. It’s such a special experience to see the joy it brings and gives a moment of normalcy while in the hospital. I’m really grateful to be part of it, and it wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our community.

One day, each week throughout the year, Happy Wheels volunteers make rounds to each inpatient room with a decorated surgical cart filled with brand new books and toys. Happy Wheels visits approximately 400 children weekly at all 3 children's hospitals in South Carolina. Each child gets to pick out one toy/book of their choice every week for the duration of their admission. They get to keep the gifts and take them home!
