Happy Wheels

Our mission is to brighten the day of hospitalized children in South Carolina and to teach younger generations about volunteering and giving back to those who are suffering.

One day, each week throughout the year, Happy Wheels' volunteers make rounds to each inpatient room with a large decorated surgical cart filled with new books and toys. Each child gets to pick out one toy/book of their choice every week for the duration of their admission. They get to keep the gifts and take them home! All of the gifts are new and purchased with donated funds given by the local community. To-date, Happy Wheels has delivered to over 136,000 children, statewide!

My (6) month old daughter was at the children's hospital for a couple days/nights earlier this week and we were lucky enough to be a recipient of a generous gift from the 'Happy Wheels' program as they came around that Monday afternoon! It made us smile & brought some cheer to an otherwise gloomy day (and my daughter loved the chew toy we picked for her made by a local St. Andrews church)!
