Happy Wheels for kids!

Ezra will be 15 in a few weeks.  He was diagnosed with leukemia on November 14, 2025. His treatment, like other children with cancer, requires an innumerable amount of hospital stays. Happy Wheels volunteers are such a blessing when they come around with a smile and a cart full of options to choose from.  They come bearing toys, books and games!

Ezra is doing pretty well with treatment and taking all the struggles like a champ, but is always heartbroken when he sees younger children struggling or upset while receiving their treatment. As much as he enjoys Happy Wheels coming around, he loves that they visit the younger children. He always says that he is glad the kids get to pick something to cheer them up.

One day, each week throughout the year, Happy Wheels volunteers make rounds to each inpatient room with a decorated surgical cart filled with brand new books and toys. Happy Wheels visits approximately 400 children weekly at all 3 children's hospitals in South Carolina. Each child gets to pick out one toy/book of their choice every week for the duration of their admission. They get to keep the gifts and take them home!
