$10,000 goal

Liberation is Lit started publishing books in 2025, with the first project being the anthology, Wine About It: The Prelude, co-edited by Andrea Lashay and Tayler Simon.  This first project was made possible through a grant from the SC Arts Commission and included poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction from Black women across SC. The works explored themes of self-love, resilience, and healing and were paired with a selection of wines from Black-owned wine brands.

Our upcoming projects include an audiobook edition of the novel Beaver Girl by Cassie Premo Steele and Old Growth: An Anthology Inspired by the Congaree National Park. With the help of this fundraiser, we will be able to cover publishing costs such as ISBN numbers, editing services, printing, and whatever else might be needed for a project.
