Taking a stand against food insecurity requires compassion. Compassion means noticing a need, caring about it, and choosing to respond with kindness, support, or service. It requires seeing the humanity behind the statistics and understanding that every number represents a child, a parent, a family. In communities like Orangeburg County, where economic challenges persist, food insecurity affects not just individuals, but entire families—especially children. 1 in 4 children face hunger every Friday until they return to school on Monday.
“Weekend Warriors Against Hunger” is one of our character-educating efforts where compassion meets need because hunger doesn't take the weekend off. Please join us in taking a stand.
