Dorothy Loves Happy Wheels!

The first time I ever heard of Happy Wheels was when my, then, two-year-old granddaughter was admitted to the Children's Hospital at Prisma Midlands. She happily chose a puzzle from the toy cart on day five of her battle against leukemia. Over the next 2+ years of her treatment, Happy Wheels consistently boosted her spirits while she was in the hospital or receiving treatments in the pediatric oncology clinic. Watching the effect that Happy Wheels had on Eve inspired me to do the same for other children. On weeks when I deliver toys and books with Happy Wheels, I have the opportunity to see well over 100 patients in just one of our three children's hospitals. Currently, I volunteer at Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital a part of the Medical University of SC. Your donation is crucial to the mission of delivering joy and inspiring smiles to pediatric patients across the state.  The joy that I see on a child's face as they select from the Happy Wheels cart is absolutely priceless - you are able to grant that smile with your generous support!

One day, each week throughout the year, Happy Wheels volunteers make rounds to each inpatient room with a decorated surgical cart filled with brand new books and toys. Happy Wheels visits approximately 400 children weekly at all 3 children's hospitals in South Carolina. Each child gets to pick out one toy/book of their choice every week for the duration of their admission. They get to keep the gifts and take them home!
