Look at my life! I live a meaningful, purposeful, useful life—much of which is due to The FriendShip. Imagine you could not see nor drive. For only $600 a year (that’s only $50/month), I can request transportation to poetry lectures, musical events, lunches with friends, and hikes; in addition,  The FriendShip offers social gatherings, educational programs, and field trips. The FriendShip has change hard-to-reach lights in our kitchen, repaired furniture,  mended and hemmed, explained technology, read aloud, addressed correspondence,  assembled small bedside tables, and installed wall lamps. I no longer have to miss Pulitzer-winning poets, poetry classes at USC, musical events, Christmas sing-alongs, nor tours to Anne Frank House, zoo, or Congaree National Park. I don’t have to continually ask Kirk nor friends for rides, nor defend my choices of how to spend my time. 

The FriendShip has a dynamic Board, a cadre of vibrant volunteers, and continues to grow in financial strength. It is not a needy organization; it is healthy and prospering. I’ve served on the Board as well as lead an outreach team. My goal is to recruit twelve new donors who might average a $50 contribution. Help me live the life I can.
