Supporting Families, One Diaper at a Time

Clean diapers are a basic need, yet far too many families in our community struggle to afford them. One in three caregivers faces diaper need, often forced to make impossible choices between keeping their baby clean and covering other essential expenses like food, rent, or childcare.

As a board member of Power in Changing, this issue is deeply personal to me. I have seen how something as simple as access to diapers can ease stress, restore dignity, and create stability for families who are doing everything they can to provide for their children. Parenting is already demanding, and it should not be made harder by the lack of access to such a fundamental necessity.

Power in Changing exists to fill this critical gap in South Carolina. Because diapers are not covered by most assistance programs, families are often left without support for this essential need. At the same time, many childcare centers require parents to supply diapers and wipes, creating additional barriers for caregivers trying to work or pursue education.

Through this campaign, we are working to ensure that families across the Midlands have access to diapers, wipes, and other baby essentials. Every contribution directly supports parents and caregivers, helping them keep their babies clean, healthy, and thriving. More than that, it sends a powerful message that they are seen, supported, and not alone.

When we invest in families, we invest in the well-being of our entire community. Together, we can meet this need with compassion, dignity, and action and ensure that every baby has the care they deserve.
