Columbia Green is doing the kind of work that truly brings people together by creating and caring for green spaces that make our community healthier, more beautiful, and more connected. Being involved with this organization has shown me how powerful it is when people show up for something bigger than themselves, whether that’s planting trees, maintaining gardens, or simply creating spaces where people can gather and feel at home.

As someone who has experienced firsthand how meaningful time outdoors can be, this work is incredibly important to me. Green spaces aren’t just nice to have. They’re essential! They support our well-being, strengthen our neighborhoods, and create opportunities for people to connect with nature and each other.

One program that especially inspires me is Columbia Green’s Beat the Heat initiative, which focuses on planting trees in areas that need them most to help reduce urban heat and create more equitable access to shade and green space. In support of this work, I’ve set a personal goal to raise enough funds to plant 25 trees before my 25th birthday at $100 per tree, that’s $2,500 to directly invest back into our community.

Your support helps make this possible. From expanding programs like Beat the Heat to maintaining and enhancing shared spaces, every contribution goes toward building a greener, more vibrant Columbia. I hope you’ll join me in supporting this work and being part of something that makes a lasting impact.
