The Hive Community Circle
About this Organization
The Hive Community Circle is a statewide culturally specific peer advocacy organization serving survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking.
We strive to ensure that all survivors of abuse and violence have the necessary tools and resources they need to heal from their trauma while attaining safety and economic security.
Although we serve all survivors, we focus on communities historically underserved, which are women and girls of color and people experiencing poverty.
The Hive brings culturally specific peer advocacy services for survivors, including counseling, financial relief, safety, and crisis services, all free of charge.
For the past ten years, The Hive has responded to the needs of survivors across South Carolina by providing hope and support. In 2019, we began offering direct services, and last year, we invested $504,000 to assist 164 survivors-many of whom might have returned to their abusers without our support. Through our education and outreach programs, we also reached an additional 2,910 individuals, raising awareness and providing training on prevention.
