To provide opportunities for physical, mental, and emotional wellness which support independence and enrich the quality of life for older adults.

Sumter Senior Services is a private non profit organization whose guiding philosophy is that we have an obligation to assist residents who spent their working years building our community, by providing programs and services which assist in living a dignified live in a home setting for as long as possible. To that end we design and deliver quality programs/services which improve the quality of life for Sumter County residents 60 years and older.

These programs includes home delivered meals, transportation with escort to medical appointments, and group dining programs, health/wellness and fitness programs, arts, crafts and recreational activities in senior centers, as well as, access to computer labs and literacy programs.

Testimonials

Sumter Senior Services served 102,740 home-delivered meals to senior citizens from July 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024. These meals provided much-needed nutritional relief for more than 410 seniors in Sumter County.

In addition to the nutritional value of the meals, according to Mr. Allen, a daily meal recipient, the daily contact with his delivery driver, who he describes as "bright and cheerful," brings joy to his day. Additionally, sixty-seven percent of our drivers, are all seniors.
