Special Olympics South Carolina

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.

Special Olympics South Carolina offers year round athletic training and competitions for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes participate at no charge to them and these funds go to support their training and experiences. We host more than 500 competitions in our state every year and many of our athlete have gone on to compete in national and international competitions.
