Southern Guitar Festival & Competition

Our mission is to inspire and educate the general public about guitar artistry and culture. Every year, SGFC reaches out to an average of 1500-2000 music lovers who come from different parts of the world. People who attend this event are concert goers and guitar players of varying abilities. All of our educational events and concerts are open to the public.

This unique guitar event is the only one in the southeast that offers a variety of educational opportunities and features multiple genres of professional guitar artistry. The Festival audience has the opportunity to witness playing by some of the most promising, young guitarists in the world. By attending the competition rounds and concerts, the audience can experience breathtaking talent by world renowned artists. Because of this project, the interest and knowledge of classical, Spanish guitar playing is growing every year. Finally, local students from public and private schools participating in guitar programs get a chance to attend this high quality event, which otherwise would not be available to them.
