The Shepherd's Center of St. Andrews

Shepherd's Center of St. Andrews is an all-volunteer, interfaith learning program for active adults fifty and above which seeks to provide retired persons opportunity to use their experience, training, and skills in significant social roles; enhance life satisfaction and self-realization through artistic expression, life-long learning, and discovery of spiritual resources; and demonstrate life at its best in later maturity so as to provide attractive role models for successful aging.

We are 200+ members strong, and funds raised will allow us to provide support for our Adventures in Learning program of classes so that we can continue to offer seniors in our community quality instruction in a wide array of topics. Our desire is to sustain a warm, caring, and inviting place where seniors in the community know they can come to engage in learning, laughter, and social interaction.

In 2015, my wife of 55 years and counting, suggested that we should join the
Shepherd's Center. "It'll be good for you," Leslie told me. As usual, she was right. The
creative outlet provided by the writer's class, my own photography related offerings,
participation in the reading group, sitting and absorbing the content of lectures on
arcane topics I wouldn't have thought to explore on my own, seeing Leslie's art work
emerge from her watercolor class, and just plain old being around y'all's smiling faces,
feeling part of the wondrous flow and eddy that make up the multiple communities on
offer here, are a substantial contribution to my life. It turns out I am still "growing up";
and I thank
