South Carolina Bar Foundation

For 55 years, the South Carolina Bar Foundation has improved access to our legal system.  Our mission is to promote justice by funding legal access and education.  Our vision is for every person in South Carolina to recognize and secure legal rights.  

Since 1971, the South Carolina Bar Foundation has awarded more than $60 million to law‑related organizations across the state. The Foundation provides funding in three primary areas: Administration of Justice, Civil Legal Aid, and Law‑Related Education. Through these grants, our partners work tirelessly to serve South Carolinians experiencing poverty, housing instability, and barriers to legal representation; individuals impacted by the criminal justice system; survivors of domestic violence; and youth exploring careers in the law—among many others.
