SASS Go is a nonprofit bringing safety, hope and healing to women and girls in the Midlands and beyond. We accomplish this through prevention education, self-defense training, and crisis response consulting. The women and girls we serve are as diverse in age, background, and experience as the world they inhabit and over half of them receive our services for a free or reduced cost. Together we work hard to #protectthetribe.
SASS Go is on a mission to love and protect people. In 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) completed a decade-long study revealing that 1 in 3 women will experience sexual assault, relationship violence, or stalking at some point in their lives. SASS Go is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit addressing this critical issue through our specialized education, training, and consulting services. Our team of professionals help communities enhance their prevention, intervention, and restoration practices. To date, we have served over 34,000 individuals across four continents. Whether collaborating with the US Department of State in regions affected by enduring violence or working with educational leaders in elementary schools focused on preserving the innocence of youth, SASS Go provides effective solutions, hope, and healing.
SASS Go has served a wide range of clients, including the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Embassy, U.S. Military, United Nations (UN), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Homeland Security, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS).
HENRY DARGAN MCMASTER
GOVERNOR OF SOUTH CAROLINA
Dear Friends and Supporters:
The first duty of government is to protect the safety and well-being of its people.
Across South Carolina, we continue to strengthen our efforts to prevent violence, support survivors, and ensure that those in need receive compassionate, effective care. This work requires strong partnerships, sustained commitment, and a coordinated approach among health care providers, law enforcement, and community organizations.
Efforts like those advanced by SASS GO, including The Banks Project, reflect the type of collaboration and leadership that help move this important mission forward. Through partnerships with state and local agencies, medical providers, and community organizations, these efforts contribute to improved prevention, enhanced training for frontline professionals, and more coordinated support for survivors.
Continued investment in prevention, workforce development, and system coordination is essential to reducing fragmentation and strengthening the services available to individuals and families across our State. By supporting initiatives that promote collaboration and shared responsibility, we can better ensure that our communities are safer, stronger, and more resilient.
The mission and efforts of SASS GO, including The Banks Project, have my full confidence and support, and I encourage continued partnership and community support to advance this important work.
Yours very truly,
Henry Dargan McMaster
