Sandlapper Singers

Sandlapper Singers brings American choral music to life and keeps it growing through performance, education, and outreach.

Based in Columbia, Sandlapper Singers is a professional choir and 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in the Midlands community. Under the direction of Dr. Augusto Gil, the ensemble presents music of a high caliber while creating opportunities for singers, students, and educators across the region to learn, perform, and grow. From mainstage concerts to clinics, workshops, and shared performances with local schools and ensembles, the work is centered right here at home.

Founded in 1996 by Lillian and Dave Quakenbush, Sandlapper Singers continues to build on that legacy through the support of a community that believes this work matters.
