Richland County Public Education Partners

A nonprofit organization

Our mission is to strengthen the public education system through impactful programming that engages parents, empowers educators, fosters community involvement and enriches student experiences.

Richland County Public Education Partners has three focus areas for programs that directly align with our mission; empowering educators, enriching students experiences and engaging parents. Our primary programs are our "T.A for a Day" Volunteer program is a coordinated effort to recruit and retain volunteers to serve as teachers assistants in STEAM classes. The goal is to reach 5 schools, with 50 volunteers who complete 500 hours every school year to help support our teachers by improving their working conditions and the overall learning environment.
The "Literacy Leap" program is a summer bridge program for early learners. The goal is to help more learners in the community read at or above grade level through a series of community events and individualized instruction. Lastly, our "Parents as Leaders" program is a course with multiple classes focused on helping parents become better advocates for their children while making them more aware of community resources.

Testimonials

RCPEP completed the first Parents as Leaders cohort in 2024 with parents from Richland One and Two. We are excited about continuing our work in 2025 with parents of special populations who need additional support navigating parent engagement. We also launched our volunteer initiative in 2024 that has almost totaled 100 hours volunteered at a local high school!
