Providence Home

A nonprofit organization

Every year, men leaving incarceration, addiction, homelessness, or other life instabilities face overwhelming barriers to rebuilding their lives. Without stable housing, accountability, employment support, and a healthy community, many of these men fall back into cycles of relapse, recidivism, and despair.

Providence Home is a Christ-centered transitional ministry serving men coming out of addiction, incarceration, homelessness, and other life instabilities. Founded in 1963, we operate a 60-bed facility on North Main Street, providing safe housing, daily meals, job readiness support, counseling, and structured accountability.

Our mission is to help men in crisis rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and purpose. Through practical, holistic support and a strong community environment, men are equipped to secure full-time employment, restore relationships, and reenter the workforce as contributing members of society.

In 2025 alone, we served 90 men, provided more than 65,700 meals, 100+ loads of laundry each week, 98 bus passes to job interviews, 156 chapel services and helped 50 men secure and maintain full-time employment. The impact extends far beyond our walls—strengthening families, workplaces, and our entire community.

Testimonials

When Tom came to Providence Home in the spring of 2023, he was destitute, hopeless, and fighting through drug withdrawal. Angry and broken, he had reached the end of himself — but he was finally ready to change.

Through faith, accountability, and hard work, Tom’s life began to turn around. He gave his life to Christ, was baptized, and committed to restoring what addiction had taken. Today, he has rebuilt key relationships and regained custody of his teenage daughter — proof that lasting transformation is possible.

________

After experiencing a tragic loss as a teenager, Korey turned to drugs and alcohol to cope. What began as an escape quickly became an addiction that led him to life on the streets — and eventually, to prison.

While in solitary confinement, Korey read through the entire Bible. In that quiet, isolated place, he surrendered his life to Christ.

Upon his release, his public defender referred him to Providence Home. Through structure, accountability, and spiritual support, Korey began rebuilding his life from the inside out. He secured a job with a local construction company and committed himself fully to his recovery.

Today, Korey is more than five years clean and sober. He now serves as the general manager of the same company that first gave him a chance during his time at Providence Home — a powerful example of redemption, perseverance, and lasting transformation.
