PhotoSC

PhotoSC is a 501C(3) arts organization dedicated to the exploration of photography and the ever-changing landscape of image making and visual culture.

PhotoSC is completing its 5th year as a arts nonprofit having mounted five photography shows showcasing both local and national photographers. In all we presented the work of over 90 photographers ending the year with a retrospective of Columbia photographer, Pat Crawford's work in an exhibition entitled People, Places & Things.

Chris Aluka Berry: Affrilachia: Remnants that Remain; Becoming: The Feminist Image, juried by Elizabeth Avedon; Add|Mix|Fold, a mixed media exhibition by artist Nancy Richards Farese; Surrealism, A Triennial, juried by Sheryl Conkleton; and P.Crawford: People, Places & Things, a Retrospective.

PhotoSC is working with Richland County School District One on the delivery of an afterschool photography program entitled Eye2Eye. The photography program is designed to address social emotional learning while being integrated in the language arts, math and science. PhotoSC is looking to increase its workshops and talks emphasizing photographic and literacy education.

Understanding visual culture and media literacy are important topics that impact daily life and impact a broad range of people. PhotoSC explores photography in its diverse impact and contribution to the arts.
