Orangeburg SPCA, Maude Schiffley Chapter

A nonprofit organization

The Orangeburg Maude Schiffley Chapter of SPCA, is a NO-KILL, non-profit adoption center, which provides care for sheltered dogs and cats; facilitates placement of adoptive animals in nurturing, responsible homes; reduces pet over-population through spaying and neutering; and offers various educational opportunities to the public.

Our biggest Outreach event is the Bark-In-The-Park at our local fairgrounds each spring, where people can come with their pets and meet local animal rescues and supporters, meet local craftspeople, listen to music, get lunch and showcase animals for adoption. Our best fundraiser is a golf tournament we have once a year. Like most shelters in S.C we have been overrun with homeless animals in 2023 as adoption rates decline. Fundraising has had to go into high gear because adoption rates are falling. Also we are shipping out most of our found and abandoned animals to Rescues across the state. We also receive NO funcds from the ASPCA.

Testimonials

: A recently posted testimonial: " My husband and I recently lost our first dog together due to some medical issues. A coworker of mine sang the praises of Orangeburg SPCA since he has adopted his last three dogs from them. . We met an adorable not so little guy who was about 3-4 months who was friendly and sweet. Ali went out of her way to help us with the paperwork and we were able to take our new guy home the same week. Thank You SPCA
