Living Hope Foundation — Mission and Community Impact

Our Mission

The mission of the Living Hope Foundation is to IMPROVE THE LIVES OF RESIDENTS OF Newberry County and all of South Carolina. We carry out this mission through outreach, community services, crisis intervention services education, and advocacy collaboratively with volunteers and community partnerships. The mission can be accomplished by working with local and state agencies in acquiring funds in order to improve, acquire, and construct affordable housing for the moderate to low-income population regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, or sexual orientation.

Our History and Programs

In 2006, the Living Hope Foundation established the Daily Bread Food Pantry, which has grown into our most popular and successful program. Located at 1830 Nance Street in Newberry, South Carolina, the pantry provides essential food assistance to individuals and families in need throughout our community

The Oakland Community Center has also served as an important resource for the Newberry community. Throughout the years, the facility has been used for after-school programs, senior programs, children's summer camps, counseling services, and the mobile food pantry. The Center provides a place where individuals and families can access not only food assistance, but also programs and services designed to strengthen and support the community.

Community Partnerships

The Living Hope Foundation maintains strong relationships throughout the Newberry community and has developed working partnerships with a variety of nonprofits, churches, businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations. These relationships have included the Newberry Family YMCA, Rotary Club of Newberry, Westview, Department of Social Services (DSS), Newberry College, WeCare, and other.

Our work is grounded in a simple commitment: to demonstrate the love of humanity through practical service, compassionate outreach, responsible stewardship, and faithful care for our neighbors.
