Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Kershaw County Habitat believes the primary foundation of families and neighborhoods is affordable homeownership. We advocate for affordable homeownership in these ways:
1. Expand supply of affordable housing through the construction of affordable homes.
2. Equitability increase access to credit by manually underwriting mortgages within the Habitat office.
3. Optimize land use for affordable houses by accepting donated land as residential housing lots.
4. Ensure access to and development of communities of opportunity by constructing houses close to social services, including public transportation.
5. Sustainment of affordable housing by educating homeowners on personal finance through a 9 week personal finance and homeownership course.

One of the most touching, memorable moments within the Habitat community is witnessing a homeowner pay off their mortgage. On the surface we see the end of a monthly payment, but below the surface we see generational poverty ending, confidence growing, and legacies being created.
