Join Our Mission

Since 2010, Homeward Bound Pet Rescue has been a beacon of hope for dogs in need. Founded by experienced volunteers, our organization is dedicated to saving lives and finding loving homes for every dog we rescue. We invite you to become part of this life-changing mission.

Why Your Donation Matters

As a 100% volunteer-run rescue, we do not have paid staff. This means every dollar you give goes directly toward the rescue, care, and adoption of our dogs. We rely solely on donations—your generosity is our lifeline. Your gift helps us provide urgent medical treatment, food, supplies, and safe shelter for every dog in our care.

Our Impact

In 16 years, we have rescued and placed over 3,800 dogs into loving, permanent homes. Each rescued dog resides with a foster family while awaiting adoption. Foster homes offer each dog stability, compassion, and a nurturing environment, helping us learn about their personality so we can match them with the perfect family.

Our rescue efforts focus on helping dogs from a variety of situations. We regularly pull dogs from local shelters—especially those at risk of euthanasia—giving them a second chance at life. We also welcome dogs whose owners can no longer care for them, working with families in difficult circumstances to ensure their pets find safe, loving homes. In addition, we take in stray dogs found in the community, providing them with the care and support they need as we search for their forever families.

Help Us Save More Lives

Your support makes all the difference. By donating during Midlands Gives, you offer homeless dogs a second chance at life and the love they need. Please consider donating during this vital event—together, we can create happy endings for even more dogs in need.

### Mission Statement ###

Our mission is to make a difference in our community by rescuing stray, homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs, from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer provide care for them, to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets, to work with committed volunteers, foster homes and local veterinarians to achieve our goal of saving lives, and to ensure each pet is adopted into a secure, loving home where they are treated as valued family members.
