Freedom and Hope Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Freedom and Hope Foundation offers fishing and hunting activities as therapy for wounded service members and children with life threatening illnesses. We provide overnight and weekend events free of charge to our heroes. Our guides and volunteers provide a safe haven offering respect, compassion, encouragement, and friendship.

A significant aspect of our organization is unique because it presents and opportunity for our guest to enjoy while participating in outdoor activities they may have considered themselves no longer viably capable of undertaking. In addition to the outdoor experience we offer, our lodge is a place to interact socially. Our lodge sets aside time to honor those military personnel who have fallen. We honor local fallen soldiers by holding memorial deer hunts while continuing a relationship with the families. Or organization is all volunteer and no paid positions exist. We are supported by internal fundraising events, local businesses, churches, and military organizations such as the American legion.

Testimonials

A visiting amputee wounded hero participated in one of our organized deer hunt. Some of our deer stands are designed with wheelchair ramps. The volunteer guide assisted this hero to the deer stand and positioned him for the morning hunt. As the morning sunrise appeared the wounded warrior turned to the volunteer guide with a tear in his eyes and stated "I haven't been able to deer hunt for 20 years". The impact of this moment to the wounded warrior and the guide cannot be measured. This represents our Mission!
