Building a healthy community by providing local resources and opportunities through advocacy, funding, and partnerships. *A Healthy Community is one where all residents have access to: a quality education, safe and healthy, adequate employment, transportation, physical activity, good nutrition, and quality health care.

Fairfield Forward believes that community change is not possible without collaboration, and this belief lies at the core of our work. The coalition aims to leverage partnerships and resources to address areas of greatest need in Fairfield County. Projects include FoodShare-Fairfield, Drawdy Park Gym, walking trails including Kids In Parks (exercise mixed with history), community gardens, chronic diesease prevention through health screenings, Walkabouts at local elementary schools, Fairfield Farmers and Artisans Market, and water bottle filling stations at all schools in Fairfield County.

Testimonials

Fairfield Forward sponsors FoodShare-Fairfield which allows residents a box of healthy produce at or below cost. This plays an active role in reducing chronic disease in our county which is classified as both a food desert and a food swamp. We also fund or assist with funding community gardens, walking trails and exercise, chronic disease prevention, our local farmer's market, water bottle filling stations, and mental health and substance-abuse prevention.
