Edisto Habitat for Humanity, Inc.

Our mission is to bring people together in Orangeburg County to build homes, community, and hope. Edisto Habitat for Humanity works with families, volunteers, local businesses and partner organizations, home sponsors, and individual donors to improve many residents' substandard housing conditions. Habitat family partners purchase the house with a zero to low-interest mortgage, which helps to foster generational wealth and opens doors to job, educational, and other opportunities.

Edisto Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Since its inception in 1991, Edisto Habitat for Humanity will celebrate building 100 homes and helping 100 families.

In addition to home construction, we provide disaster awareness, preparation, and recovery services, create accessibility through our Ramp Program, and provide financial education and workplace readiness.

Testimonials

Habitat for Humanity has completed 98 newly constructed homes in Orangeburg since 1991. We will begin our 100th home in the fall of 2025.
