Crooked Creek Art League

The purpose of the league is to encourage and support new and established artists, to educate and encourage each other's work as well as to help grow the visual art in our community by offering artists avenues to improve skills, display and sell art, and to socialize and network with art supporters.

Crooked Creek Art League is in its 30th year and has 150 members. A group of local businesses provide on-locations for Crooked Creek Art to spotlight local artists along with Chapin library and Chapin Town Hall. Crooked Creek Art League sponsors two juried art shows a year. Our fall juried show is held at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community. It is open to all artists. This year there were fifty pieces on display and it is open to the public until the end of January. Our second juried show will be held in March 2025, which will be our 30th Juried Show . This show is held at Crooked Creek Park Recreation Center. Over 50 artists will display their art work. This exhibit is open for viewing to the public. Over 1,000 people a day come through Crooked Creek Park Recreation Center. CCAL has opportunities for members and the public to participate in art classes and workshops. We also are proud of our efforts to support future artists through various means. We support the arts programs at the University of South Carolina and Benedict College through an associate juror internship program. We also remain visible to our community through local galleries and businesses.

My wife and I joined the Crooked Creek Art League in 2022, and were immediately impressed by the level of engagement of its members and by the support of local communities. Our Fall 2024 juried exhibition at Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community featured 50 pieces from 34 artists, and our March 2025 juried exhibition at Crooked Creek Park promises to feature about 150 pieces from 50+ artists.
