The mission of Columbia Resilience is to build resilience in all sectors of the greater Columbia, SC community. We are part of the worldwide Transition Town network which promotes powering down, reconnecting, and reskilling for the future. We create and support local programs and initiatives to address such issues as strengthening the local economy, re-localizing food sources, conserving energy, and building greater community health and connectedness.

Our organization currently supports two projects in the Midlands area. Using permaculture principles we redesigned and replanted the community orchard at Owens Field, and we now maintain it with the help of community volunteers. We also have created the Columbia Resilience Integrated Health Project which operates a free clinic offering alternative health treatments for those suffering chronic stress or anxiety.
