Animal Mission

Animal Mission is a SC based 501(c)(3) charitable organization committed to providing affordable and accessible spay and neuter services for pet owners in the Midlands of South Carolina, in an effort to reduce municipal shelter overcrowding and resource-based euthanasia. We also proudly support our local municipal shelter, Columbia Animal Services, through service projects, community outreach programs, and facility improvements in order to enhance the stay and outcome for their pets while they await their next homes.

Animal Mission is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization, founded in 1991 as a "Friend of the Shelter" to Columbia Animal Services. Since 2006, through fundraising events and your donations, we've also provided over 77,000 spay/neuter procedures for Midlands pets through our voucher program. Thanks to overwhelming community support and the efforts of our volunteers, board of directors, and shelter staff, the city shelter's numbers continue to improve each year. Their live release rate is now at 85%, and intake numbers have also decreased sharply for the last 19 consecutive years. Our goal of achieving 'No Kill' status for the community has never been closer.
