Animal Mission is a volunteer-based non-profit organization, founded in 1991 as a "Friend of the Shelter" to Columbia Animal Services. Since 2006, through fundraising events and your donations, we've also provided over 69,000 spay/neuter procedures for Midlands pets through our voucher program. Thanks to overwhelming community support and the efforts of our volunteers, board of directors, and shelter staff, the city shelter's numbers continue to improve each year. Their live release rate is now at 86%, and intake numbers have also decreased sharply for the last 18 consecutive years. Our goal of achieving 'No Kill' status for the community has never been closer.
