WeGOJA Foundation

The WeGOJA Foundation advocates for the preservation and promotion of African American history in South Carolina.

Much of WeGOJA's work involves identifying historic sites and assisting communities with the lengthy process of preservation. Its largest projects are: 1) the South Carolina Preservation Toolkit (SCPreservationToolkit.com) which provides resources and advice to help communities and leaders meet their preservation goals. 2) the Rosenwald Schools Trail Study -- an examination of extant Rosenwald sites and properties to determine the feasibility of developing the state's first African American state park.

The Foundation also is hosting webinars with school teachers to help them incorporate art into classroom instruction via African American history.
