Welvista

Welvista is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that offers FREE healthcare services to the residents of South Carolina through their Medication Assistance Pharmacy (MAP) and Smiles for a Lifetime (SMILES) dental program. Since 1991, Welvista has worked to bridge a tremendous healthcare gap for underserved South Carolinians while relieving costs of uncompensated care from our healthcare system and taxpayers. In the past five years, Welvista's programs have served more than 138,500 patients.

MEDICATION ASSISTANCE PHARMACY (MAP): MAP is Welvista's full-service, mail-order pharmacy providing free prescriptions to uninsured, low-income South Carolinians living with chronic illness. This charitable Mail-order pharmacy serves more than 17,000 patients living with chronic conditions statewide each year. The program is entirely free to the patient as long as they meet eligibility requirements. 

Welvista partners with pharmaceutical companies for brand-name drug donations and uses charitable contributions to buy generic medications. By mailing prescriptions directly to patients and providing education to improve medication adherence, we remove countless barriers to accessing lifesaving medications.

SMILES FOR A LIFETIME (SMILES): SMILES is our pediatric dental program that provides preventative and restorative dental care to K4 -12 grade students in some of our state's most rural school districts in Allendale, Dillon, Clarendon, and Hampton Counties.
