A nonprofit organization

To engage students and teachers in dynamic, hands-on exploration and discovery opportunities that strengthen knowledge in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Center inspires students to pursue careers in these fields, and provide an outlet to learn and apply important life skills. The Columbia Challenger Center Foundation will also engage business and community partners in the Richland One School District, the SE Region and the State of SC.

The 2025 Midlands Gives campaign will provide summer camp scholarships for underserved students in the Columbia MSA. We will also provide STEM experiences/scholarships for students to support their academic achievement in school, and to inspire them to consider STEM degrees and careers.
Funding from Midlands Gives will support the following programs:
Aerospace summer camps
Space mission simulations
Robotics
Hands on science exploration
Aerospace education laboratory
e-Planetarium

Our Goals:
Expand the Challenger Learning Center's reach
Strengthen its impact in the Community it serves and become a National Best Practice for all Centers.
Structure the organization for maximum effectiveness and efficiency
Fund Development to support the Center's transformation
Market and enhance our brand identity
