About Us: Sistercare provides trauma-informed, comprehensive services for survivors of intimate partner violence and their children. Sistercare is the ONLY organization in the Midlands providing emergency shelter, 24/7 crisis line support, clinical counseling, community-based services, peer support groups, rural advocacy, transitional housing, legal/court advocacy, teen outreach, and community education.

• 42% of South Carolina women will experience domestic violence, sexual violence, or stalking during their lifetime (Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage, 2021).
• South Carolina has been consistently ranked among the top 10 states in the nation for the rate of women killed by men (Violence Policy Center, 2024)
• 26% of children under the age of 18 are exposed to domestic violence in their lifetime. (National Network to End Domestic Violence, 2023).
• 1 in 12 teens experience physical dating violence (CDC, 2021).
