Mission to Reduce the Occurrence and Impact of Domestic Violence in the Midlands. Sistercare provides trauma informed comprehensive services for survivors of intimate partner violence and for their children. Sistercare staff advocate on behalf of survivors providing awareness, education and opportunities for systems change in the community. Sistercare is the only organization in the Midlands providing emergency shelter, counseling, even for children, legal advocacy and community resources.

South Carolina is currently ranked 6th in the nation for the rate of women killed by men.
Approximately 1 in 5 female high school students reports being abused by a boyfriend.
On average, 3 women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends in this country every day.
1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience some form of physical intimate partner domestic violence.
Boys who witness domestic violence are twice as likely to abuse their own partners and children when they become adults.

When a victim enters a service with Sistercare, this survivor is offered a "wrap around" of multiple services that embraces the survivor and their children's healing process.
