Shelter Volunteer Network

A nonprofit organization

The mission of Shelter Volunteer Network is to help improve the quality of life and health and promote the adoption, rescue and fostering of all animals at the Newberry County Animal Shelter located in Newberry, South Carolina.

Our sole mission is to help the pets at the Newberry County Animal Shelter. We are committed to improving the quality of life and health of the shelter pets and to promote their adoption. We are boots on the ground volunteers at the shelter. If the shelter is open, volunteers are there walking the dogs, socializing and loving them. Volunteers transport animals to veterinarians and rescues, help at adoption events, bathe dogs, and even do poop patrol. Some fantastic volunteers open their homes and their hearts to foster dogs. We are constantly doing outreach to the community via advertising, talking to groups, flyers, and displays of available pets' pictures so people will see that shelter pets are not damaged goods. They are wonderful companions waiting for someone to come save their lives and love them.

Testimonials

Paula Hardy - There are numerous organizations that are "cookie cutter", ones for which members attend meetings, do an occasional community activity and socialize. This is quite the opposite for SVN. These folks work tirelessly, not only helping with the care of the fur babies by walking and playing with them but also loving them. SVN goes above and beyond to find forever homes and by raising funds in all creative ways for basic needs and medical care for them. These folks are a blessing! Ben Bowers:- Adopting Sadie & working with the SVN and the NCAS couldn't have been easier. All the animals are very well taken care of by volunteers and staff. I am always happy to support.
