The South Carolina Philharmonic is committed to performing live symphonic music and providing dynamic educational opportunities in the Midlands. We carry forward a legacy of passion for the music and embrace our responsibility to be a vibrant part of the cultural fabric of our diverse community.
An independent 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, the South Carolina Philharmonic performs and promotes high-quality, professional symphonic music, serving the community's needs for cultural development and education, entertainment and tourism since 1964.
In addition to the eight concerts at the Koger Center, and chamber series "Andy and Friends" at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, the SC Phil enriches the lives of over 45,000 people through education and outreach programs, presenting over 70 performances annually. These programs include our performances at Prisma Health, Lexington Medical Center, the Dorn VA Medical Center, Camille Griffin Graham Correctional Institution, public and private schools in Richland, Lexington and Newberry Counties, eldercare facilities, schools for special education students and youth at risk of violence - and the majority of these are offered FREE OF CHARGE.
OFF THE STAGE AND IN THE COMMUNITY: Help us reach our goal to continue offering world-class music to everyone in the Midlands!
A survey response following our sensory-sensitive concert:
"What an absolutely fabulous opportunity for EVERYONE to enjoy the symphony. I loved the music, the maestro is engaging with his audience and orchestra! loved watching the ASL interpreter, the dogs and handlers sat near us, the children and families were fun to watch. Knowing that special needs children and families were free to be themselves with no restrictions IT WAS AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT EXPERIENCE! Thank you for sharing this!"
