South Carolina Nurses Foundation, Inc.

The mission of the South Carolina Nurses Foundation is to promote high standards of health care by assuring the advancement of the nursing profession through scholarships, grants, and programs of excellence.

The SCNF administers several scholarship programs as well as the premier nurse recognition program in SC, Palmetto Gold Nurse Recognition and Scholarship Program. Over the last 9 years the Foundation has given over $4 million dollars in scholarship support to undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Research grants and Healthy Community grants are also administered as funding permits. The SCNF works closely with all SC schools of nursing as well as nursing employers to assure the advancement of nursing.
Funds generated through the MIdlandsGives campaign will be used to assist the SCNF to increase scholarship support to student nurses, provide research and healthy community grants, as well as raise public awareness of the impact nurses have on building healthy communities.

I am truly honored to be one of the South Carolina Nurses Foundation (SCNF) scholarship recipients. I am a Geriatric and Adult Nurse Practitioner, an Instructor at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and currently pursuing my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at MUSC. Receiving this terminal degree will afford me the opportunity to continue my journey in educating the future generations of nurse practitioners. However, going back to school can be intimidating, not only because of the work, but also because of the financial strain it may cause. The SCNF scholarship award has alleviated much of this financial burden; this has been such an amazing gift for me and my family!
