South Carolina Energy Justice Coalition

A nonprofit organization

The South Carolina Energy Justice Coalition works to embed fundamental fairness into South Carolina's energy system.

The South Carolina Energy Justice Coalition (SCEJC) is a dynamic, nonpartisan collective of over 85 organizations across the four regions of SC working to support communities experiencing high energy burdens, persistent energy inefficiency, energy inaccessibility, and other issues in the SC energy system. It is guided by facilitated dialogue, a grassroots base, and energy justice values as we advocate an affordable, abundant, reliable, and clean energy future for all South Carolinians. Collective efforts are supported through community and civic engagement, partner support, advice and education, youth development, public policy, and technological advancements.

By joining with community groups to amplify the concerns of SC's communities struggling with energy injustice, the Coalition is able to elevate issues at the state level. We believe that true energy justice means that every South Carolinian - regardless of income, geography, or health status - deserves reliable, resilient, affordable, and clean energy that sustains both people and
planet.
