About Us

South Carolina Senior Sports Classic, Inc. (SCSSC) is the host of the South Carolina Senior Games, a quality multi-sport recreational and competitive experience for adults ages 40 years and older designed to promote health, wellness, fitness, socialization, and community through sport. The SCSCC encourages every South Carolinian to embrace the opportunity to create and maintain a physically, emotionally and spiritually healthy lifestyle. As the only South Carolina sanctioned site for the National Senior Games Association, a member of the US Olympic Committee, the SCSSC provides a unique opportunity for participants to qualify for the National Senior Games (NSG). Every even year, South Carolina qualifies 300-400 elite athletes for the NSG, where 12,000-15,000 competitors from across the globe go for the gold.

The goals of SCSSC programs are:

• To help maintain and improve the health and wellness of South Carolinians 40 years and older. 
• To provide recreational and competitive athletic experiences that focus attention on the importance of regular exercise in every individual’s personal plan of health.
• To provide an opportunity for socialization across the state for adults 40 years and older.
• To help improve the quality and quantity of athletic programming at the local level by providing an opportunity for community groups to work together toward a common goal.
• To help enhance the quality of life for South Carolina's adults 40 years and older through health education and activity.

This is accomplished through State Senior Games, Local Games, Invitational Events, and communication with athletes throughout the year.
